What I'm Lovin Wednesday

This is probably one of my favorite type of Blog post.

I love sharing my favorite things with y'all!

Here is what I am lovin' this Wednesday!

I am lovin' the smells coming out of my kitchen right now!

I have this recipe in the crock pot as I type this and it smells GOOD!
I substituted low/no sodium soups and seasonings for my renal diet so I hope it turns out well.

I am LOVIN' LOVIN' LOVIN' that Lilly Pulitzer is collaborating with Target for her new line
Ticket to Sunshine!

Lilly is a great brand that I have loved for years and years but it can be quite pricey
so I am excited to know that there will be some more affordable pieces in a store that
I already love!
In other news, K has already threatened to take away my Red Card...

I am loving that so many of my family and friends are having babies right now!
I am still working on getting K to agree to another baby
(See: Probably ain't gonna happen)
So I am pretty stoked that my sister and many of my friends have tiny ones or will have them soon!
Time for Aunt Whoop Whoop to spoil some babies!

Lastly, I am NOT loving the weather in Georgia right meow.

Not ok.... at all.

Hope y'all are lovin' your Wednesday!

Resolution One...

Back to Blogging...

I know, I know.  I took a nearly 6 month break from the blog.

Working from home has been a little more "work" than I thought it would be!  The event planning company took OFF in 2014 and while I am grateful, I believe it may have took off a little TOO fast, as I overbooked myself and had to make the decision to cut WAY back in 2015.  To be home and with my boys was the main goal of working from home and I had to remind myself of that.

The Dood broke his arm back in October and finally got his cast off the day before Christmas Eve (Thank the Good Lord) and 2015 is shaping up to be a pretty adventurous year for our little family.  Lots of trips and fun things going on.  Our #1 family resolution for 2015 was less electronics more nature.  We started that resolution a tad early with a 10 mile hike, the weekend after Christmas!  (Blog post coming on that soon!)

The main thing I wanted to blog about today is that this blog will be taking a new direction... I had focused more on Fashion with Rare Pearls in the past but I want to bring it back to a lifestyle blog-Journal of sorts- instead of just fashion.  I am not saying in no way that fashion will not come up from time to time, as it is a BIG part of my life, but there will be more to the blog than just that!  Couponing, Family Time and just good ol' Pearl humor :)

I hope that y'all are having a great New Year and I look forward to blogging more!

Happy Birthday Cheeks!

Prince Cheeks is ONE!

If you have followed this blog for anytime you know two things:

1. I adore the Royals
2.  I absolutely love me some Prince "Cheeks" George!

Today is his first birthday so I thought I would share some of my favs of him!

This is his official one year old picture released from the palace.
I happen to think another kid I know is a tad cuter in their one year old picture...

but I may be a little bias...

Lucky little Guy!

This is why they call him Cheeks!
I JUST WANT TO SQUEEZE THEM OFF!

and of course my all time favorite
I just picture him saying,
"Mummy, you really are as perfect as everyone
says you are, yes you are Mummy!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCE CHEEKS!

Also, wishing a HAPPY HAPPY Birthday to my better better half!
This girl is my rock.

Hope yall have a happy Tuesday!

Monday Funday

I know most of y'all are going to be like...
SHUT IT
but I love Mondays now that I am at home with the Dood
and working for myself.

Before, I would work on house stuff on the weekends
because I had to work during the week but now
it is so nice to have my weekends back!

Here is a tiny re-cap of our weekend

Saturday, we went to a memorial service for my Grandfather
who passed away last week.
It was very nice to be reminded of all the qualities that I got from him.

To name a few are my creativity, my devotion and my patriotism.
He was the greatest American I know!

That night we went to a shower for some dear friends!

Sunday, we worked on the house!

Y'all.
We have been looking for the perfect bedding for FOR-EVER.
We decided to just go by Bed, Bath and Beyond to look
and HOLY SMOKES, I ALMOST DIED.

I found Kate Spade Bedding that both K and I loved!
EVEN BETTER
when we got to the register it was 50% or more off the clearance price!
We got the duvet cover and three pillows for $75!!

With that big of a discount we decided to get some shower curtains too!
(I am redecorating our townhouse to make it feel more like a home
and less like a bachelor pad!)

This is the new curtain in our bathroom!
I also got a Kate Spade curtain for the Dood's bathroom
for... wait for it... $12.99!!!!

After picking up these great deals
we heading to my best friends little boys' birthday party.

ha ha love these kids!

Our weekend was Amazing!

I love that our life is in such a GREAT place this right now!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Time out

Hey y'all!

Sorry for the radio silence but I have been adjusting
to being a stay at home mom
and enjoying the summer!

I am thinking of changing the blog up at bit.
It will still talk about fashion a little
but I think I will also focus on some other stuff

Shopping on a budget
DIY Home Projects
Community Involvement
Couponing
etc

So I hope y'all will check back.

Also, I have a birthday this month.

Just a reminder :)

#TLCVoxBox

I know y'all are all like...
what the heck with all the FREE mumbo jumbo on your
facebook, twitter and pinterest!

Well here is the deal!

I signed up at influenster.com about a month and a half ago and
received my first Vox Box last week or so!

It is great fun to get free items to review!

If you want more information you can find it
and if you are interested in joining the influenster team, let me know
and I can send you an invite!

Now about my first Vox Box!

I received the TLC Vox Box that was sent out to Moms!

I got tons of great stuff!

Here is my review of the items!

Neosporin Neo to Go: I really enjoy this product.
With the dood running around and being a crazy nine year old boy
this helps me with the cuts and scrapes of the playground
without hurting his playground cred!

This is another product that couldn't have come at a better time!
Turning 30 in just over a month, I was delighted to see results
almost immediately!

Oh MYLANTA!
The hubs and I seriously ate the entire container in one night!
We tried the triple chocolate and it was delicious!

Puffs To Go: Hello Allergies!
This time of the year in Georgia, my allergies go nuts.
I usually keep a pack of tissues on me
but honestly now I think I will upgrade to the kind with lotion.
Need.

This is something that has been in my house since I was a kid.
It was fun however to find different uses for it.
You can see my pinterest board with all kind of fun ideas HERE.
The dood and I are going to try the microwave trick next week!

To be completely honest, this wasn't the most exciting thing to me
We are avid users of the Kroger Fuel points so I didn't see the benefit at first
but reading more into this program there are lots of ways to earn rewards!

I really enjoyed reviewing these items and participating in the brand badge challenges!

Can't wait for my next Vox Box!

A townhouse?? You?

I actually get this question a lot.

"You live in a townhouse?"

Yes, I do.

When K and I got married we moved into his townhome,
1.  It is completely paid for. Completely.
2. We have one child and it is the perfect size.
3. It is completely paid for.

When I was younger, I dreamed of a large Historical home on The Hill.  A house that would make all of my friends jealous, had large columns and was perfect for entertaining.  I wanted a large yard and a pool.
I didn't dream big or anything...

But I had that.  Well not quite to that size but I had a beautiful home in a desired neighborhood with a big yard that was great for entertaining and you know, while it was home and it was beautiful,
I now realize that anywhere you are with the people you love is home.

I was married to the Dood's dad for 9 years and we had many homes, each one of them was right for us in that time of life, just like the town home is perfect for K and me now.

I truly believe that a home is what you make it.

The townhouse may be cramped at times.
It may not have a large yard or columns.
and it is SERIOUSLY lacking some closet space.
BUT the other thing I love about it is that K worked really hard to pay off our townhome
and that enables us to go on great vacations and provide the dood with all the things he
needs in life and most of what he wants.

The people that I love more than anything in the world live there.
It is close quarters and I couldn't love that more.
I have seriously separation anxiety and I am A-OK with being close to my boys.

Do I still dream of that large historical dream home of the Hill?
Duh.
but right now, I just love being home with my boys.
